We are planning an international symposium in remembrance of Prof. Yongqi Gao: The Ocean, Sea Ice and Northern Hemisphere Climate 

The Symposium will be held in the second week of September, 2022 between the 7th and the 9th of September. 

It will be possible to join physically in Bergen (for EU/US participants), in Beijing/Nanjing (for Chinese participants) or digitally.

The symposium is organized along selected key topics on which Yongqi has been working through his scientific journey. 

Expert and former collaborators of Yongqi will be providing an introduction of the following topics (see flyer attached):

• Tibet plateau and high mountain weather and climate
• Ocean circulation and marine pollutants modelling
• High and middle latitude teleconnections and Eastern Asia monsoon
• Arctic sea ice and polar climate
• Climate variability and predictability
• Climate Impact on the Environment and Society

We welcome abstracts on any of the above areas.
